The Niger Delta University non-academic staff are currently on strike for a month now and this posed a major challenge to the to several activities as most of the offices are inoperative. Transcripts application is on hold after payment, collections of original certificate is one hold and whence school resume January 14th, 2022 for the 2021/2022 academic session first semester, physical verification MAY also be on hold.
The above speculation was made due to the fact that non-academic staff handles students’ physical verification at the department level. Hence, there may be some elements of complications in the physical verification process.
In addition, while school is resuming on the 14th, hostel application portal is yet to be opened. Freshers and parents, guardians and sponsors have expressed concerns over the accommodation issue in particular.
We however, speculate that the Sammy administration, known for its vibrance in administrative affairs may find an alternative routes or that physical verification MAY be kept on hold pending when non-academic staff call of strike while classes continues on the 24th January, 2022.
If the later is to occur, the result is that no physical verification, no NDU admission letter pending when non-academic staff call off their strike.
Hostel portals on the other hand are expected to open this week or latest early next week to enable students apply before they resume. Be informed that no school fees payment, no hostel application. School fees receipt is used for the application of hostel.
As we anticipate resumption and all these occurrences, let us hope that non-academic staff will call off strike, otherwise, management finds alternative routes to make activities goes smoothly.
