Recall that the NDU’s Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) joined its National counterpart to commence their 14-day warning strike October 5th, 2020.
With the strike action embarked upon, several offices in NDU are now inoperative as staff have vacated all offices excluding teaching staff.
We can confirm that as at the time of filing this report, the exams and records office handling students’ academic records and transcripts, the Senate office handling certificates, Predegree and Basic office, Registrar’s Office and other sensitive and important offices were inoperative as our staff on errands returned with no staff to attend to them.
The admissions office and its staff responsible for the verification of newly admitted students’ o’level results were also not available at the time of this report
There is no indication of when the staff will resume duties as the government have not called the striking workers to a meeting.
Our customers whose jobs have been held as a result of this development may get their jobs attended to by January as school is expected to close Christmas week.
