1. Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Scholarship


The Petroleum Technology Development Fund hereby invites applications from qualified Nigerians to apply for the 2021/22 Undergraduate, Masters and PhD scholarships for students in Nigerian Federal Universities.

Online application form can be accessed from the PTDF SCHOLARSHIP MANAGEMENT PORTAL. Instructions on how to access the application form is stated on the PTDF Scholarship Management Portal Applicants are advised to read through the requirements before applying.

PTDF Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate

  1. Applicants must be full time students in any of the Federal Universities listed.
  2. Applicants must be in their second year of study.
  3. Course of study should be related to oil and gas industry as advertised.
  4. Students must have been admitted into the University in 2018/19 academic year only.
  5. Possess 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO including English Language and Mathematics
  6. Possess a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on scale of 5 or 3.0 on a scale of 4 which is equivalent to 2.1 in the first year for the 2018/19 batch of students
  7. Applicants should provide their transcripts for the first year of study (transcripts must be signed and stamped by HOD/Exams Officer or any authorized staff).

PTDF Undergraduate Requirement

  • EWAEC/SSCE/NECO results with at least 5 credits, including English Language and Mathematics (not more than 2 sittings and the first sitting result must be uploaded).
  • Letter of admission into the University.
  • First year academic transcript(s) duly signed and stamped by HOD/Exams Officer or any authorized staff.
  • Certificate of indigene ship (evidence of state of origin and local government).
  • Personal statement of a minimum of 1000 words stating reasons for undertaking the course of study.

PTDF MSc. Requirements for application

  • Applicants must possess full time admission letter into any of the Federal Universities.
  • A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in an oil and gas related field or a 2.2 with a minimum working experience of 2 years in the oil and gas industry.
  • Course of study should be related to oil and gas industry.
  • Possess at least 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO results (not more than 2 sittings and the two results must precede the first degree)
  • National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate or Letter of exemption
  • Certificate of indigene ship (evidence of state of origin and local government)
  • Personal statement of a minimum of 1000 words stating reasons for undertaking the course of study.

PTDF PhD (ISS) Requirements for application

  • Applicants must possess full time admission letter into any of the Federal Universities.
  • A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) in an Oil and Gas related field or a 2.2 in their first degree with a minimum working experience of 2 years in the oil and gas industry
  • A minimum of merit in a second-degree certificate in an oil and gas related discipline
  • Possess at least 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO results (not more than 2 sittings and the two results must precede the first degree)
  • National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate or Letter of exemption
  • Certificate of indigeneship (evidence of state of origin and local government).
  • Research area must be relevant to the oil and gas industry
  • PhD research proposal of not more than 6 pages. The proposal template can be accessed via the applicants profile on the PTDF Scholarship Management Portal.

Applicants should NOTE

  • Applicants must have a National Identity Number (NIN) before applying for the scholarship. Applicants are to note that they will be required to verify their NIN before proceeding with the application (NIMC verification charges apply).
  • Applicants who have benefited from any of the PTDF scholarships in the past cannot apply for the same or lower category of degree
  • Applicants who are beneficiaries of any other scholarship need not apply
  • Application is restricted to Federal Universities and for specific courses only
  • Possession of valid admission letter into the University is mandatory for all applicants.
  • Postgraduate applicant’s admission letter should be within a validity period of 12 months (2019/2020 or 2020/2021 session).
  • Postgraduate applicants who meet the requirements shall be shortlisted for interviews before final selection of successful candidates.
  • Undergraduate applicants must have completed their first year and are currently in their second year of studies.
  • Only undergraduate applicants undertaking studies in oil and gas related fields (as advertised) will be considered and the final selection shall be based on grades on their transcripts (transcripts must be signed and stamped by HOD/Exams Officer or any authorized staff).

Admission for part-time studies shall not be considered for all categories of applications. The scholarship is highly competitive, and merit driven. Selection of candidates shall be based on equitable representation of the 36 States of the Federation and FCT.


2. HONNIF 2021/2022 SCHOLARSHIP


Read the following instructions carefully before starting your application.

  • Must be an indigene of Kaduna State
  • Offer of admission into a full time degree or HND programme in a public university or polytechnic
  • Satisfy the minimum requirement for registration in the institution and the department or faculty as a full time student
  • Credit in 5 “O” level papers including English and Mathematics at not more than two sittings
  • Must not be more than 27 years of age by the date of entry into the university or polytechnic

3.  MTN SCHOLARSHIP


MTN Scholarships under the Youth Development Cause, is an annual award that seeks to recognize and reward qualified high performing students in Tertiary Institutions:

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship, currently in its 12th phase, is open to eligible 300 level students studying Science & Technology-related courses, in Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). 300 successful students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation if they maintain the required grades.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students in its 10th phase is targeted at qualified 200 level blind students studying any course in Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). 60 successful blind students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation as long as they maintain the required grades.

Top 10 UTME/JAMB Scholarship in its 2nd phase is the latest addition to the MTN Scholarships and awards scholarships worth N200,000.00 to the top-performing UTME/JAMB candidates who maintain the required grades from their 100 level through to graduation. The Top 10 UTME/JAMB Scholarship is awarded irrespective of the successful candidates’ preferred course of study or Tertiary Institution – Public or Private in Nigeria.

4. LAGOS STATE SCHOLARSHIP/BURSARY


The Lagos State Scholarship Board is the agency in charge of scholarship, Busary and other related matter within the state. it grant scholarship awards to deserving indigenes in various tertiary institution of full time studies in other to assist student financially.  

Requirements

  1. Evidence of indigeneship form. (a) An Oba and (b) Local Government Council
  2. Letter of Current Admission.
  3. Student Identity Card.
  4. Birth Certificate.
  5. Academic Certificate obtained.
  6. Jamb result Slip
  7. Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASSRA) identification Card of the Applicant
  8. Photocopy of the Payment reciept.
