Since the arrest of Nigerian artistes, Omah Lay, a.k.a. Stanley Omah Didia and Temilade Openyi a.k.a Tems in Uganda, many Nigerians have been asking why the duo were arrested.
The two artistes both faced a Ugandan court on Monday 14th, after being charged with “Negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases.”

Sources disclose to Vanguard Newspapers that the singers were arrested and consequently charged to court in Uganda after appearing at a concert which held in Uganda at Speke Resort, Kampala, on Saturday 12th of December, despite Covid19 social distancing regulations.
The Ugandan police disclosed this in a social media statement on late Monday. The Uganda Police stated that Omah Lay and Tems were also arrested with one other person, Muyiwa Awomiyi.
According to the Ugandan authority, Omah Lay and Tems are both expected to remain in the Ugandan custody until Wednesday 16th of December despite mediation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to get them out.
Omah Lay confirms via his twitter handle that earlier plans by the MFA of releasing them on police bond proved abortive after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP. They were jointly charged with four other Ugandans. All remanded till Wednesday 16.12.2020.”
The Nigerian star also added that the Ugandan authorities have blocked the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign affairs from interfering.
