NDU Post UTME Date and the shift in NECO examinations have further made things precarious and erratic for Post UTME Candidates. With NECO examinations being shifted till Monday 9th of November, 2020 and expected to elapse 28th of November, 2020, the hopes of NDU Post UTME holding in November is now becoming elusive.
Recall that all universities were mandated by JAMB to wait for NECO to complete their examinations before they can conduct their Post UTME – this directive Universities actually abide.

However, with the emergence of the #EndSARS campaign mid-October, NECO had decided to shift its examinations upfront/indefinitely citing inability to move examination materials nationwide as the primary causative agent.
When Is NECO Examinations
Currently, NECO have decided to continue its examinations from November 9th, 2020 through November 28th, 2020. This means that NECO exams will not take the whole November, 2020.
Also recall that the Vice Chancellor, Niger Delta University, in his second radio talkshow on NDU Radio 98.1 FM stated that as a result of the ongoing examinations, the Post UTME may not held till Post UTME prospectives are done with their examinations.
When Is NDU Post UTME?
Citing existing indicators – all things being equal – NDU Post UTME may now be in December. This is IF we calculate NECO to end November 28th and Post UTME was to come after NECO.
This is not to say University may decide to have a break and hold their Post UTME irrespective of NECO ongoing. However, it is better speculated that Universities will wait for NECO owing to prevailing circumstances.
Despite the NDU Vice Chancellor earlier stating that the NDU Post UTME will hold in November, the interference of #EndSARS campaign may have come in to obstruct the VC’s stipulates.
Possible Future Ambiguities
Since various activities are now obstructing the Post UTME, it is hard now to target a specific date for the writing of Post UTME. Put in mind that since March, 2020 till date, strikes, lockdown, school suspension, riots, etc. have all impacted immensely on the successful completion of the Post UTME.
The NDU Post UTME application started July 9th, 2020 through August 31st, 2020 but the application is still left ‘ongoing’ as a result of the pandemic. Till date, the NDU have not released any specific date for the Post UTME – leaving applicants hanging in thin air as to the next course of action.
Post UTME Applicants’ Predicament
Since the NDU have not released any date for the writing of its Post UTME, jambites have been stranded and left in wonderment as to when the NDU will actually write its Post UTME.
Several web portals have released dates previously all in an attempt to garner traffic. But in reality, the NDU is yet to release any actual date. In fact, it has remained mum over the actual date of the Post UTME examinations.
Is Post UTME Screening Same As Post UTME Examination?
Yes, screening in this context refers to examination too. Many applicants deduct that the Post UTME will be merely screenng where only certificates will be screened.
Many of the applicants who never really written Post UTME examinations before believed there would be no actual examinations but merely screening.
To be straight, all applicants should know that they are actually coming to write examinations and not mere paper screening. The Post UTME examinations is same a JAMB CBT examinations. There is scarcely any difference, hence, the examinations are purely computer based.
When Will Admission Start Since Post UTME Is Delaying?
Currently, it will be hard to speculate when admissions will commence. Recently, JAMB brought out another admission guideline for all universities to follow. But recall that JAMB has been releasing guidelines every minutes that are not usually followed as a result of unforeseen occurrences. Hence, it will be wiser to play according to each Universities timeline.
For now, we can only lift information from our admission guide and speculate based on after Post UTME Examinations. The Niger Delta University does not publish a timeframe for giving admissions once after Post UTME screening exams. Nevertheless, what we can do is to follow previous admission timelines and aggregate an average time-period. We did analysis of the duration between Post UTME examinations and first batch admissions for 2017/2018, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 and the average duration is Two Weeks.
This is to say after your NDU Post UTME screening, it will take around two weeks before admissions will be released. Please, take note that this is a result from previous studies and this result has been used to speculate this current admission. This does not mean we are precise on the duration of when this year’s admissions will be granted. However, this result is meant to give you an idea, an insight into what may occur.

ASUU Strike Updates
Currently, the latest meeting between ASUU and Federal Government which held yesterday yielded no fruit. Report had it that despite both parties starting the meeting in their usual expectation that both parties would come to a positive/common ground, it occured that the Minister of Labour and Productivity threatened that the FG may seek the industrial court to meddle in the stalemate.
For now, while everyone would want to hope for the positive, the current issues are that there is no ongoing agreement between ASUU and FG.
ASUU and FG are still far away from agreement. While ASUU are requesting for payments totalling into a trillion plus, FG is tendering few billions, an amount considered to be a farcry from ASUU’s demand.
Aside the financial involvement, the platform which FG also wants to continue paying ASUU is different from the platform ASUU have designed for its staff payment.
The Federal Government has preferred that the striking Universities’ lecturers be paid with its platform known as IPPIS, while the Universities lecturers argue that its’ UTAS platform will be better considering the fact that the FG’s IPPIS does not consider the peculiarities in universities salaries payment.
It was recently that the ASUU chairman lamented that some lecturers who already registered with the platform received the sum of N8,000 as monthly salaries.
