This project work is on the assessment of employees’ motivational factors and job performance in Bayelsa State ministry of education. Motivational factors are those factors which engender workers to put in their best performance to ensure that organizations achieve their set objectives. On the other hand, job performance refers to how employees are able to carefully carry out their daily duties with recourse to the job specification. In order to access those motivational factors that motivate employees, questionnaires was administered to workers of the ministry of education in Bayelsa state and the responses gotten from the questionnaire was collated and analyzed using simple percentage count. The result gotten from the analysis aptly shows that the most motivational factors ever is money, because of its quick effects, and it get work done immediately. Other motivational factors include bonuses, take home pay, incentive, promotion, huge salary/wage etc. Recommendations were made which includes: the Bayelsa State Ministry of Education should motivate both its internal staff and teachers in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions of learning to ensure a better educational system. Employees should try as much as possible to induce workers to motivate themselves instead of giving money as self or intrinsic motivation last longer than extrinsic motivation. Finally, the State Ministry of Education should help create a conducive environment for work.
