In what has been described as overriding the Delta State government order to extend the stay at home order for another two weeks, women in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State has taken to the streets to register their displeasure over the extension without any meaningful palliatives put in place to cushion the effect of the social distance order.
Thousands of protesting women in Sapele main town according to DailyWatchNg took to the streets against the authorities over Delta state government extension of additional two weeks lockdown in the state without food and electricity.
The protesting women some clad in red apparels told journalists that the governor of Delta state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa is insensitive and wicked as he extended the lockdown order without provision of food.
They said that the governor and other top politicians in the state have provided enough foodstuffs for their families and left them in hunger for the past two weeks hunger.
“Instead of hunger to kill me and my children, we will prefer the Chinese Coronavirus to kill us and let Okowa come and bury us, if we die. We cannot stay at home without food and light. Let Gov. OKowa send his soldiers to kill all of us and bury us” a lady groaned on behalf of the protesting women. https://admissionsandutme.com/2020/04/14/ndu-re-opens-extends-school-fees-payment-by-two-months/ Meanwhile, the state governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has appealed to Deltans that the lockdown is not intended to witch-hunt anybody as it is done for the safety and health of all Deltans.
