The executive secretary of the Bayelsa Loan Board, Dr. Michael Amaegberi JP has stated that the school fees for Niger Delta University students who applied for the 2019/2020 loans from the Board has been duly paid.
This was made known in a 93.1 Peoples’ FM presentation where the executive secretary noted that any student who applied should beseech the Niger Delta University Bursary department to get their receipts.
How to Apply for Application for the Bayelsa Loan Board
According to the secretary, the application form is free and can be accessed in the Board’s office in Yenagoa. Accordingly, students were urged to avoid paying for the form but rather visit the board’s office to get the form if interested.
The secretary also added that repayment period is 5 years which starts after graduation and original certificates for students who applied will be retained until they completely repay their loans.
On the criteria for application which demanded for only civil servants on grade level 15 to be used as a guarantors, the secretary said that they are trying to play down on the law a bit to avoid sidelining many students because many students do not have such guarantors and and the office has received lots of complaints.
The secretary said that several persons are not eligible to apply. They include non-indigenes, Bayelsans in private schools anywhere and Bayelsans in any school abroad. However, Bayelsans who are undergraduate students in any public university in Nigeria, Bayelsa Post Graduate students at the Masters and Ph.D level are free to apply.
The method of application according to the executive secretary is to visit the address of the board, Palm Road, Behind Aridolf Resort, Okaka, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The executive secretary also added that students with no guarantors should fill in the name of their parents, whether employed or not and submit.
The chairman encouraged all Bayelsa students having financial challenges paying their school fees to apply for the loan which he described as the best in the world as there is not interest attached to it.
