Welcome to the online orientation brought to you by Admissions and UTME Nigeria, a subsidiary of MJE Resources.

The discussant is Michael O. Jules, collaborated by Eseoghene Eruvwahwe

It is our pleasure to present this orientation document to you today. This version is document presentation only as against the previous version held on WhatsApp where it was a full blown discussion. The multitude of platforms now available to us left us with no other choice than to hold it here.

This orientation is brought to you because we feel that as new intakes, you needed to be aware of the new environment you now find yourselves. I remembered how I passed my HOD’s office a number of times before I was able to track it after I was misdirected several times until I decide to do the tracing myself by reading postals on the doors of each office. These postals have the names of lecturers using the particular offices and the purpose such office is used for.

To find your way as freshers in the NDU, you must learn how to read. Read everything you see. Including those cultist signboards on the road, those environmental signs, Faculty, Department, Associations and Unions posts and so on. This is because these information helps you to know certain things about your area of study amongst other relevant matters.

Moreover, as you are coming to school, you must learn to put yourself in order. You must comport yourself, respect yourself, and respect the right of others. Do not be too hasty, do not insult anybody, so as not to attract unnecessary trouble for yourselves.

Additionally, you must behave very clean. The Niger Delta University (NDU) is the cleanest public school you will ever see. When you recharge, keep it till the next roadside trash bin. When you consume water, gala or any other disposable, please, dispose it properly. This is very important because right now, the cleaners working on the road are now reduced because of government’s civil service policy. Hence, cleanliness must be upheld by all to ensure that we corroborate with the cleaners to keep the environment clean always. Who amongst you who do not like a clean environment? Sure we all do.

This introductory aspect will end here. The next aspect will be on the processes required of new entrants.
