Niger Delta University Post UTME Candidates, newly admitted students, parents, sponsors, guardians, and other members of the public has been asking and searching in google if the Niger Delta University truly withdraws admission granted to students who are unable to accept such admission within a speculated time frame, a question we had answered over and over again.

Recall that in 2016, the Niger Delta University released a PDF file containing a list of 265 newly admitted students whose names were delisted from the admission list for failure to pay school fees.

Also recall that in mid-October, 2018, the Niger Delta University started releasing its 2018/2019 admission lists. From the procedures posted online, which is available to only admitted student,”Your Admission Letter and Clearance Certificate can only be printed after payment of School fees not later than two weeks after physical verification after which the admission offer will be voided and your slot be given to another.” That “all the processes stated above must be completed within three weeks from the date of notification of admission.” What this means is that upon receiving admission sms, a newly admitted student will have only three weeks to pay acceptance, complete registration, verification and pay school fees, otherwise, forfeit the admission.

From 2018 till date, it has become a regular activity by the management of the Niger Delta University to be releasing warning along with admissions to ensure newly admitted students are aware of their admission and pay all requisite fees before deadline.

Will The Niger Delta University Really Withdraw My Admission?

From past experience, the answer is YES. In 2016/2017 academic session, the Niger Delta University withdrew 265 names from its admission list. These were newly admitted students whom after a considerable number of weeks, were unable to accept their admissions. The slots were retrieved and added to the final batch of admission list that year.

Additionally, from the 2020/2021 academic session till date, the NDU began withdrawing admissions when the figures of students who accepted their admissions became too low compared to the number of admitted students. Although admission retrieval stopped in 2016/2017 academic session, the behaviour emerged again in 2018/2019 academic session. However, this time, only warning was given from 2018/2019 till 2019/2020.

From 2020/2021, admission withdrawal came back fully with many newly admitted students having their admissions withdrawn. in 2020/2021, there were three batches of withdrawn admissions. Kindly check the posts added to the bottom of this publication to read up.

When Will the Admission be Withdrawn if I do Not Accept it on Time?

Once admitted, you have two weeks to pay up your acceptance and clearance and school fees. Hence, we often give an expert advise that candidates start saving their fees with Emerald Students’ MPCS to enable them access loans if their fees will constitute an issue. After the two weeks, you enter into the grace period. You may likely receive a warning sms again before your admission will be withdrawn.
